About Shikaar

How Shikaar was born?

Shikaar was born from a mindset of a foodie movement looking to create unique dishes from traditional Indian cooking methods. Food has now become a choice rather than a necessity. Therefore, this choice imparts a large surge of emotion associated with the food we choose to eat. Good food makes us happy & bad food has the power to do the opposite therefore this is the first principle of what Shikaar aims to do…deliver you good food. This may seem simple however consistency & perfection are the attributes of delivering good food. Food that is made from the highest quality ingredients responsibly sourced straight from farms. Taking responsibility of where every single ingredient ensures we offer you consistently tasty food.

Our second aim is to be different, outlandish & provocative. Taking an innovative approach to traditional Indian dishes & turning them on their head. Breaking down what makes a dish and challenging why & how. In doing this we challenge the dishes with using new ingredients & experiment with exotic flavors not native to Indian cooking. This also extends to the method in which we cook. Seeking new methods to impart flavor & texture to our dishes. When you are at any event food is always a talking point. Therefore, we seek to ensure our diners are provoked to talk about our food.

Our Final aim is to connect with an experience that stimulates the senses. Food is not only about taste, how food looks, how it smells & even how it sounds is part of the experience. This is where memories are brought back, & new memories are made. Food can be fun & playful. It is an experience that, dating back to early man, was enjoyed together in a collective environment. Shikaar aims to give you an experience of Modern Indian food.
